Urban Pind opens yet another outlet

Different Delights Italian or Indian – it’s all available at Urban Pind

The culinary map of Delhi is being dotted with new food stops every other day. Restaurants offering Indian and foreign cuisine, both traditional and exotic dishes, have opened shop. Though many of them have had to close down due to lacklustre busin ess, a handful, like Urban Pind, have struck a chord with the city’s food lovers. Starting with an outlet a couple of years ago, the restaurant is on an expansion spree, with the latest addition being a fine dining open-air outlet, Urban Café, in Greater Kailash – I. The place offers an elaborate menu with Indian and Italian fare and special emphasis on shakes and lemonades. Those who like their food with wine are not left out either, as Urban Pind has a well stacked bar, and even offers hookahs to those who long for the old time joys in today’s urban life.

To start with, you can try out shakes like the Baileys Irish cream shake, black forest shake, choco monster, coffee shake and Havana shake among others. The shakes are frothy and creamy and taste quite refreshing. The restaurant offers a range of pastas and pizzas too, such as linguine alla puttanesca, capelli diangelo al carciofi, penne con gamberetti pomodoro and pizza margherita, pizza quatro fromaggi and pizza alle verdure. The pizzas are crispy and quite tasty.

In the main course, there is a Lebanese mezze platter with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Try the Italian cilantro flavoured chicken done on a grill. It is very good.

Indian dishes include murgh ke sholey, murgh malai, bhatti murgh Pind-style. Bhatti murgh Pind-style is a tandoori dish which claims to put tandoori chicken out of fashion. Seafood delicacies such as tandoori machhi, Amritsari fish, fish fingers and tandoori jhinga are other delightful options.

Indian vegetarian dishes are not left behind either. Haryali kabab roll, paneer mirch masala, paneer romani and tandoori gobhi are on the menu card. All the dishes are prepared in olive oil.

Open from 12 noon to 1 a.m., the restaurant has an interesting park view, backed by pulse racing music. A meal for two can be had for Rs.1000 plus taxes.
