Now, the Honda civic Hybrid

India’s first petrol-electric car will be the Honda Civic hybrid. It will go on sale in India by June. The car will have a 1.3-litre petrol engine augmented by an electric motor, and the combined drive from the petrol as well as electric motors will produce 110 bhp and 17 kgm of torque. It will cost approximately Rs. 18 lakh, but then it offers an environmentally-conscious image and low running costs. The Civic Sport is also expected soon. Mechanically, the Sport will be identical to the regular Civic, but will have side skirts, front air dam and spoiler, and interior embellishments like drilled aluminium pedals. These will add approximately Rs. 50,000 to its price.
