Eye catching Children on the stage
Let it be summer or winter, students of Shiamak Davar’s Institute of Performing Arts need neither a reason nor any occasion to let their hair down and shake a leg. This was well exhibited by the young lads and senior citizens at the ‘Summer Funk 2008 held at Shilpakala Vedika on Sunday. A premier dance institute consisting of nearly 150 students in Hyderabad performed on various dance numbers which included latest tracks from Bollywood and Hollywood.
The reason for the crowd to stay back till the end was not the air conditioned hall but the variation and creativity which were well seen in the performances. One could see children of 4-6 years of ages dancing to the tunes of Krazzy 4 and tracks from Om Shanti Om. Senior citizens along with youngster set the stage on fire and showcased their everlasting energy level by performing to the tracks of Race, Michael Jackson, Mast Kalandar, Mauja hi mauja, hare ram hare ram and many more. A special attraction was the performance by the physically and mentally challenged kids on the tracks of Taare Zameen Par which carried a noble message with it and made many hearts melt.
A unique medley was presented by the most experienced dancers of the institute on the movie Jodha Akbar showcasing life of the emperor Akbar.
In the summer workshop held for nearly two weeks, students were made to go through a complete dance routine where they got to learn various new styles of dances and experience various disciplines of stage performance. The students were seen in the spotlight carrying along with them the feel and a taste of professional dancers.
Each and every student who participated in the summer workshops got the opportunity to perform on stage.
