M.C.Comagan, director of ‘Comaganin Raaga Priya’ had much to say, on his brainchild. The group whioh has entertained many has many firsts to its credit

“Comaganin Raaga Priya was started in 1991 with nine members. I found that each of us had individual talent. We became a team so that we could stand on our own feet and also support our families. Today, we have25 members.

We are based in Chennai. We sing Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi songs.We are all professionally trained in music. We have travelled overseas on tours- to Singapore, Malaysia,Kuwait, Sri Lanka and also to the Andamans. We have received overwhelming response from audiences everywhere. This is our first visit to Kerala and to Kochi.

I became the first visually challenged music director in India when I composed the music for ‘Mudhal Mudhalai’ in 2007.

We are fans of S.P.Balasubramaninam, K.J.Yesudas and Ilayaraja.

Because we don’t have eyes, people tend to think that we are suffering. But we are capable of creating beautiful music. We have been doing so for the past 15 years.

Every individual is born with some inherent talent. We must recognise and nurture those God-given talents with determination. We are an example.”
