It’s best to consult a doctor for your problem. Ayurveda gives suggestions which may be helpful. Sip “nimbu paani.” Sip ginger tea before and after your meals. Chop fresh ginger root finely and mix it with a pinch of salt. Chew a little of this before your meals. Sipping warm water with your meals may also help. A light diet wiith less spices is advised. Eat smaller meals.

How can I get rid of upper lip hair? Kaushika

Go to a beauty salon and have threading done. Home remedies will not remove facial hair. They are said to discourage facial hair growth if used regularly over a period of time.

You may try any of the following remedies that would help discourage facial hair growth. Make a thick paste of sugar, lemon juice and water and apply it in the direction of the growth. Wash it off when it dries.

Apply it once or twice a week. Or, apply a paste of turmeric powder and milk and rub this on the skin with a circular motion. It is said to discourage facial hair, but it may leave a yellowish tinge on the skin.

Can I use multani mitti for the small pimples on my face? Sudipthee

You can mix a little rose water with sandalwood paste and apply it daily on your face, washing it off after 15 minutes. You can also simmer neem leaves over a low fire. Cool and strain it. Make a paste of the neem leaves and apply it on your face three or four times a week. Include fresh fruits, raw salads, sprouts and yoghurt in your daily diet. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. Add the juice of a lemon to a glass of water and drink it first thing in the morning.

Mix besan, curd, lemon juice and a little haldi (turmeric) and apply it at least three times a week. Wash it off after half an hour. Then apply til oil and massage it into the skin.

How do I make shampoo at home with natural ingredients? Kalyani

Take a handful each of various herbs. Add them to one litre of water and soak overnight. The next day, simmer the herbs with the water on a low fire, till the water reduces to half the quantity. Do not allow it to boil on a high flame at any time. Allow the mixture to cool and then strain it with a clean cloth. Use the liquid to wash your hair. This quantity should be enough for four to five washes. Keep your home-made hair cleanser in the refrigerator. Make small quantities at a time.

I have trouble falling asleep. Will exercise help?Vasu

You should not exercise just before bedtime. If you suffer from severe insomnia, you should see a doctor. However, I can suggest some tips to help you sleep. Have an early dinner. Add a teaspoon of honey in a glass of warm milk and have it before bedtime. It is said that calcium in milk and the honey help sleep. A warm bath before bedtime also helps relaxation.
