On offerTandoori barbequed prawns
Taking its flavours from the coasts of India, the Chutney restaurant at The Metropolitan Hotel, New Delhi, is organising a seafood week. The menu has a variety of options from salmons to prawns to squids to crabs.
Your meal begins with a welcome drink and some chips and papad. One could begin with the succulent salmon tikka and the tandoori barbequed prawn. The flavours are a perfect blend of spices and the texture of the dish leaves you craving for more.
Going by its name, the restaurant offers nine types of chutneys, with distinct tastes, that accompany the different courses. The chutneys are made of different herbs, fruits and even vegetables like pumpkin and cabbage and carry a unique taste in themselves. The main course also reflects the culinary skill of the chef.
An assortment
There is a perfect assortment of favourites from across the country. From the North there’s fish Amritsari, jheenga Chettinad comes from the South, the delicious Goan fish curry originates from the West and the sumptuous macher jhol, which is a spicy curry, comes from the coasts of Bengal. The current hot favourite though, is the jheenga kalimirch, which is basically sautéed prawns simmered in a peppered tomato gravy. The restaurant provides you with a comfortable ambience and a pleasing staff apart from the delicious food. An average meal for two would cost around Rs.2500 plus taxes.
