Grand food festivals

A host of food festivals at the Grande Residencia opens up a platter of different cuisines

Foodies will be delighted with what Grande Residencia has to offer this week! In fact, the rest of the month…

The Liora Restaurant at the Grande Residencia (Abad Group of Hotels) is all set to thrill your taste buds, from 7 to 11 p.m., with its first ever food fest. And what a start it’s been with Steaks and Grills Fest.

The selections are many. The veggie could start off with vegetable broth, which is light with diced vegetables. Or try the potage parmentiere soup which is thick and creamy. The tomato-flavored minestrone milanese comes garnished with cheese and herbs. It is also a great choice. For the seafood aficionado, there’s the seafood coriander soup. The Philadelphia pepper pot is creamy, and a visual enticement. Enjoy, with bites from the bread basket. The garlic bread is scrumptious!

Let’s not forget the salads. It’s a toss up between a chicken Ceasar, green/tossed, pasta with peppers or seafood (prawns, squid, and more in mayonnaise and tomato puree sauce with a dash of Tabasco sauce). What will it be?

Big spreadEnjoy different food flavours

For the main course, the veggie can choose between pasta with basil or Napolitane sauce, grilled eggplant with pepper sauce, char-grilled cottage cheese or crumb-fried mushrooms and the yummy canneloni Florentine, a spinach cheese dish. The meat eaters can try the pasta with meat (beef or mutton) Bolognaise sauce, lemon and thyme roast chicken or tournedos (small-sized beef steak) with pepper sauce. The prawns that are marinated and then grilled in banana leaf, or the spicy grilled fish, with tomatoes, capsicum and coriander is a lure. The Sicilian chicken steak, served with the mushroom sauce, is a must-try! Or there’s Chateaubriand with béarnaise sauce. The juicy, lightly-flavoured, tender beef melts in your mouth. Choose the perfect dessert from the mango soufflé and the blackforest pastry, or go for the less exotic cream caramel or the fruit salad with ice-cream.

It’s not just the great food but the ambience, hospitality and the karaoke along with Glen that adds to the magic. Steaks and Grills Fest wraps up on May 15. The Ethnic Kerala Festival, celebrating Kerala cuisine, commences on May 16. That will be followed by the Szechuan-Chinese Fest from May 23-29.

The grand finale comes in the form of the Lucknowi Food Festival celebrated on May 30, 31 and June 1.
