On the eve of Rabindranath Tagore’s 147th Birth Anniversary, a singing concert and poetry recital was recently organised at Shri Ram Centre to pay tribute to the Nobel laureate. Rahul Mitra and Soumitra Chatterjee mesmerised the audience by singing and reciting 20 verses and eight poems of Tagore.

The programme in Bengali was a feast for those conversant with the language for it was marked by the recitation of Tagore’s original verses minus any translation. Rabindra Sangeet of course, was another addition that cast its spell on the audience.
