Smells of stars


What’s a perfume without a face? Alcome Perfumes and Cosmetics PLC recently launched in India with Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu as its brand face. At the glitzy event at Delhi, Bipasha came, sniffed and disappeared.

Unusually reticent she said that just the fact that she was present was proof of her support to the brand. She believes it goes with her image of style and passion.

Initially fogged over by hyper-active smoke machines, Bipasha dressed in bright red seemed all a daze.

She patiently posed for the cameras before disappearing.

Alcome is targeting not the niche clientele.

With perfumes costing a mere Rs.500, Alcome plans to have a pan India presence in just two months.
