Avoid scenes

Government has ordered to avoid scenes involving smoking and drinking in films. But it seems that no one has followed it. As films are the main source of entertainment for all age groups, every scene will attract the viewer’s mind. Smoking and drinking are shown more as a symbol of heroism in films. As people are going to films to watch their heroes, they tend to follow what they perform in the film as a mark of style and fashion. In case of illiterate audience, it is even worse. If the story line is the secret of success, why should directors go for such scenes? And why should these popular heroes accept those scenes? What is the purpose of the Censor Board? It is a shame that there are scenes depicting women drinking and smoking too. Are we paying money to develop an evil mind? Necessary action must be taken by the government as early as possible to avoid smoking and drinking scenes in films.

K.Manigantan,

Madurai.
