We are accustomed to sending our children for engineering courses followed by medicine. With globalisation and technological improvement, other career oriented courses are available in subjects like Hotel Management / Bio-technology / Aviation. Students are also more interested in the tailor made studies that fetch them lucrative jobs. Even administrative services like the IAS/IPS are not favoured as a good career option. Government needs to play a catalytic role in diverting the young talents to other opportunity-oriented courses than encouraging engineering and medicine alone.
