Beckoning diving enthusiasts

The Malaysia International Dive Expo is back

Take pleasure in diving in the warm waters of Malaysia. The Malaysia International Dive Expo 2008 (MIDE) is set to be staged at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur, from July 4 to 6, 2008.

It brings together the world’s experts in the diving and water sports industry.

This is the second edition of MIDE, and it strives to promote Malaysia as a world-class diving destination.

The exhibition focuses on everything related to diving, eco-travel, resorts, destinations, tourism boards, environmental NGOs, live boards, dive equipments, the latest in underwater photography and videography innovations.

The event is a forum where divers and water sports enthusiasts can look forward to great dive deals, value for money products, packages, attending seminars and related topics.

About 15,000 visitors are expected, and MIDE 2008 will feature more than 90 exhibitors from 30 countries such as the U.S., U.K., Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Denmark, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. MIDE 2008 has been designed to encourage active visitor participation with various contests and activities.

Visitors looking for a brief taste of an underwater experience can have a go at the Show Try Dive Pool. Added to this is the International Underwater Photography Competition, where you have a chance to win over $38,000 in prizes.

Prizes galore

A lucky dip will also provide guests a chance to win more than $ 10,000 in prizes, and one lucky visitor will walk away with the grand prize worth $8,000.

MIDE 2008 will also be a platform to create awareness on conservation and to educate the public and diving community, the importance to preserve and sustain the conservation of underwater treasures.
