Badam isn’t bad!

Find new almond delicacies at Barista

Inspired by great ingredients and global flavours, Barista is back with the magic of almond desserts and hot drinks. An almond raisin muffin, loaded with raisins and topped with almond slivers, is continuing to be the chartbuster of the muffins menu. Almond coffee and cakes are also gaining popularity among customers. An association between Barista and Almond Board of California (ABC) is resulting in the invention of new almond-based dishes.

ABC, one of the world’s largest producer of almonds, is also a major supplier of almonds to India. “Our sales in India have been impressive. India has become the third largest export market for us,” said Aman Gupta, The Indian Representative of ABC. Over the years ABC, has been consistently working hard, to create awareness among people, about the benefits of almonds. “We have organised numerous almond awareness campaigns in more than 200 schools all over India and are in constant touch with parents regarding health benefits of almond.”

The health benefits of almonds are encouraging many food companies, to adopt it in their recipes. Enriched with fibre and high quality protein, and an excellent source of Vitamin E, almonds are a popular snack.

The common notion about the weight gain properties of almonds is making doctors hesitant to recommend it as daily snack. But researches have challenged this preconceived notion and proved that “the nutrition fact labels may overstate the amount of energy obtained by the body from eating almonds.”
