Kalam speak
In translation Questions raised
After translating some of the famous English and Hindi books into Urdu, Urdu scholar, author and general secretary of All India Publishers and Book Sellers’ Association, S. Zafar Ali has come up again with a new book, “Taggali Rooh”
, an Urdu translation of APJ Abdul Kalam’s famous book “Guiding Souls.”
“When I was given the offer to translate this book into Urdu, I was excited and impatient. When I started working on it, I didn’t find it difficult at all. Earlier, I translated another of the former President’s book ‘Who is Kalam’,” said Khan. Based on a conversation between Arun Puri and Abdul Kalam at Rashtrapati Bhavan when the latter was the President of India, “Guiding Souls” raises question regarding the existence of human beings and their souls. In his answer in the book, Kalam quotes Mahatma Gandhi, Dalai Lama, Hazrat Umar, Nelson Mandela and Arya bhatta. A follower of universal religion, he has also taken extracts from the preachings of Guru Nanak and the Buddha.
