Hindi film screening

A Hindi film after a long while! Konangal Film Society will screen Shyam Benegal’s Nishant on July 6.

The plot is brutal and compelling, which reveals how people’s lives play out in many parts of the world where civilization is still primitive.

The film won the 1977 National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi, and was invited to Cannes Film Festival, the London Film Festival 1976, Melbourne Film Festival 1977, and the Chicago Film Festival 1977, where it was awarded Golden Plaque.
