History revisited The play uses Alexander’s story to understand the present
Script Peoples Theatre in association with Christ College presents a Vision 2020 production “Alexander”. The play is based on historical characters, and questions popular notions of victory, power and success. Alexander’s life shows
us that across any era, the nature of power, human suffering, ideology and politics remain the same.
In the context of the modern day, the play poses the question of the eternal conflict of dominion of the inner world versus that of the outer world. The concept and the script have evolved under the guidance of K.Y. Narayanswamy, a playwright and Sahitya Akademi Award winner. “Alexander” is a combined directorial design by Rajesh P.I., Arif Mohammed and Sibu Vaz.
The play will be staged on July 4 at the Christ College auditorium at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for institutions and at 7 p.m. for the public.
