VOICE YOUR VIEWS: Careers beyond engineering and medicine:

Purpose

Engineering and medicine fields are fast expanding. But it doesn’t mean that other disciplines are inferior. IT is now considered to be one area where stress is more. Medicine has become money-minting business rather than service-oriented. Many students choose engineering or medicine just to earn more money though they are not interested in the subjects. The true purpose of education is to build up the character which majority parents and students seem to have forgotten. There are scores of options to make a good career. Working towards satisfaction should be the prime objective. Will the purpose of education ever be realised?

K.Manigantan,

Madurai.
