Touching lives through song

In aid of the NGO “At Sanctuary” which supports cancer patients, Satrangi will present “The Golden 50s”, a programme featuring ever popular numbers from the era 1950 to 1959, when great voices such as those of Mohammed Rafi, Mukesh, Talat Mehmood, Hemant Kumar, Geeta Dutt, Shamshad Begum and Lata Mangeshkar used to sing for composers Naushad, O.P.Nayyar, C.Ramchandra and S.D.Burman.

The programme will be held at The Music Academy (Main Hall), Chennai on July 13, 6 p.m.

Songs have been selected from movies such as “Madhumati”, “CID”, “Howrah Bridge”, “Pyaasa”, “Navrang”, “Paying Guest” and “Baiju Baawra”. Singers from Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai will render the songs supported by musicians from Chennai and Kerala.For tickets contact 98847 78073.
