Jazzy B does more than stick to his roots in his new album “Rambo”

Missing his home Jazzy B
Jazzy B’s eleventh studio album, “Rambo”, is set to release. Asked about the title of the album, that is once again composed and produced by Sukshinder Shinda, Jazzy says, “I have grown up watching Rambo — the hunky dude. This album calls youngsters towards a healthy lifestyle.” Jazzy believes music has influential powers. The album’s message is to refuse drugs and to take to the gym instead.
Jazzy B, brought up in Vancouver, British Columbia, introduced a new image of Bhangra music to the world. Asked whether traditional touches are being lost from the popular folk due to westernisation, he replies, “The roots are the same, I’m only trying to produce global fruits. I have maintained a close relationship with urban music scales as well as the traditional sounds generated from villages of Punjab.” Turning emotional at the thought of his homeland, Jaswinder Singh Bains-turned Jazzy B (so nicknamed by his ‘gora’ football team mates) says, “I miss my home so much. Often I call up my mother and tell her how much I miss home, the food and the people.”
Jazzy B now has a new look with more gold and more tattoos. Rambo, the video album has 10 tracks out of which the title track is very close to the artiste’s heart, whose sassy lyrics and foot tapping, stylish Punjabi folk tunes won him the titles of Canadian Sensation and Crown Prince of Bhangra.
“I think it’s the youth worldwide that my music targets. And if the kids and youngsters want to buy an album or go for a show, then parents have to go too, I believe.”
He adds that at least three or four of the songs contain village slangs which parents will have to explain to their curious kids. “This is a service to my roots, my language.” Jazzy loves to perform live and enjoys the reaction of the crowd. On what keeps him energised, he replies, “It’s the love of music that inspires me. I look at my previous works and explore areas for improvement.”
This time, after a gap of three-and-a-half years, Jazzy B is bringing his own blend of modern Bhangra styles, lots of Hip-Hop, punchy beats, bass and Punjabi lyrics on the Spanish guitar to worldwide audiences who loved his earlier works, including “Romeo”, “Tera Roop”, “Soorma” and others.
