Reinmar Seidler put up a brilliant performance
|
The beauty about a good orchestra performance is that you do not have to be a big-time music aficionado to appreciate the various streams coming together to provide one single symphony. Orchestral Harmonies, a concert conducted by the Bangalore School of Music was one of those concerts, where one could appreciate the finer nuances of the art. The show was conducted by the BSM chamber orchestra and conducted by V. Narayanswamy, who has conducted many famous orchestra performances.
Though the concert was slightly delayed, the performances that followed managed to make up for the delay. The concert also featured superlative performances by guest artiste Reinmar Seidler and the members of the BSM junior orchestra. The junior orchestra was conducted by Noel Gerard and performed by the students and teacher artistes on songs such as Concertina for strings by Clementi Muzio and Joseph McSpadden. The orchestra also gave a rousing rendition of “Tomorrow” from the musical “Anne”. The piano soloist Sriram Ganeshan gave a splendid performance. The audience was treated to an unaccompanied cello performance by Reinmar Seilder. He performed on Suite in D minor.
Most of the performances were based on 18th century plays, events and dealt with the social setup of those times. A minor problem with the microphones, forced the St. Paul’s suite for Strings to be briefly halted and restarted, the orchestra did manage to put up a good show and were unperturbed by the minor disturbance.
The event concluded with a final performance on Fiddle Faddle conducted by Narayanswamy.
