Short and sweet

To manage your kid’s hair

Children’s hair is too soft Avoid hairsprays and gels

The way you take care of your baby’s skin, take the same care of his hair too. Your kid’s hair is more exposed to dust and dirt so don’t think you’ve just washed his head, you may need to wash it every day. What you can do is use any baby shampoo with a low pH value (lower than 4.5).

Kids cannot take care of their hair as we do. So it’s always better to keep their hair as short as possible. Grow it if you have plenty of time to take care of it or if your child knows to comb it in the right manner.

Don’t grow their hair long if wavy or curly. It will be unmanageable and if you don’t have the time to set it, it will be wild. Teach them to shampoo hair so that they don’t waste the shampoo and rinse the hair thoroughly with sufficient water. Give the last rinse yourself to make sure there is no residue left behind.

Use cloth band

To avoid tangles, make a ponytail or a braid and hold it with a cloth band instead of a rubber band. Never send children to school with their hair open.

Never apply oil in the day time as children go out to play. And this attracts a lot of dust and dirt, making hair gritty and sticky.

If they come scratching their head, don’t take it lightly. Wash their hair with a mild shampoo instead of those harsh medicated ones. Apply coconut oil mixed with camphor to get rid of lice.

Condition their hair whenever you shampoo it; one or two drops of conditioner is enough. Make it a routine to comb their hair when they are back from school. This will not only remove dust and other unwanted elements but will also stimulate the follicles beneath the skin.

Apply oil once a week only at bed time. Massage it with gentle strokes. Use only natural oils such as olive, coconut, mustard, castor or almond oil.

Avoid blow drying. Using hair products such as sprays and gels is unadvisable as children’s hair is too soft.
