Honoured! Richard Crasta

Delhi seems to be in a mood for a literary feast. Almost every day, there is a new book launch or a discussion on the recently launched one. However, the one at India Habitat Centre the other day was memorable for the depth of thought and the width of vision displayed by the author and the panellists.

The occasion was the launch of The American and Indian editions of Richard Crasta’s new book “The Killing of an Author”, the third book of his freedom trilogy. The talk was about the Bangaloring of Free Expression and the Truth about Publishers and Writers. Even as the best-selling author of “The Revised Kama Sutra” was in a reflective mood, seasoned journalist Kuldip Nayar held everybody spellbound.

Nayar said, “What comes out is his integrity.

There are not many people about whom you can say this thing. Richard is one of the few people who is resisting commercialism.

is book must be read because he has raised the points which are really basic . . . which challenge the vested interests. If Richard succeeds, we shall all succeed.”

“I felt humbled and honoured by his words,” Crasta said, who has been published in 10 countries after struggling to find a publisher for the latest book in India. The veteran journalist concluded, “Don’t give up. Never give up.”
