On Animal Planet

Whether it is the lasagne-loving, Monday-hating, Odie-baiting Garfield, the ever faithful Lassie or the fearsome and misunderstood monsters, King Kong and Godzilla; animal icons are able to inspire as much fear, laughter and tears as any top Hollywood star.

Animal Planet celebrates the historic rise in popularity of these characters in its new series ‘Animal Icons.’ Over seven decades after he first climbed to the top of the box office, King Kong is still a world-wide phenomenon.

The incredible creation of Garfield has all the makings of legends. Each episode focuses on a different animal figure or phenomenon.

The show will also feature exclusive interviews with celebrities, historians and animal experts and film clips to help to answer the question: why and how these characters became pop culture icons around the globe?

Catch the show on Wednesdays at 8 p.m.

On Zoom

Zoom, Saturday 12, 7.30 p.m.

Watch Rakhi Sawant bring all the spicy news from Bollywood. The Rakhi Sawant Showz premiering tonight is Rakhi’s unique take on Bollywood.

It’s opinionated, in your face, and sees her pose as everything from film reporter to critic. The hour-long show is divided into five segments: In true Rakhi style, the segment ‘Very Koolz! Very Originalz!’ has her give Bollywood directors a run for their money.

Then there is ‘Pol Tu Khol!,’ which reveals all the dope on your favourite stars. When Rakhi starts asking questions on ‘Baat Baaki!,’ no one is spared! She dons the role of box office cop for ‘Re-view!’ — her take on the latest films hitting the big screen.

In ‘Baj Gaya Band!’ she reveals what and who really tick her off. Finally, there’s ‘Teri Toh!’, where viewers can question Rakhi, but at their own risk.
