CHEWON THIS

Bangers and mash

A classic meat and potato meal! Solid and satisfying; forget the critics who deride it as stodgy and unimaginative (as they so often tend to do when discussing British cuisine).

A simple dish, consisting of mashed potatoes served with sausage (usually beef, but pork or whatever works for you) and a tasty onion gravy.

This is pub grub at its best: easy to make, not too expensive and tasty to boot.

Along with fish and chips, the most iconic of British foods; made famous by the comic single by Peter Sellers and Sophia Loren (“the bangers and mash me mother used to make”), released in 1960.
