Pebble to pearl

At a recent jewellery exhibition at New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan, visitors got a chance to see jewellery from across the world. The exhibition, JCK – 2008, presented 210 exhibitors including international participants from Thailand, Belgium, Turkey, Lebanon, the U.S., Japan and Italy. The fair provided the best of jewellery manufactures, wholesalers, exporters and retailers the opportunity to explore the Indian market with business-to-business platforms with Indian retailers. The main attraction was the Italian pavilion. This was an initiative of the Milan Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with ASSICOR and other agencies in the two countries.

Diljeet Titus, Chairman of the Northern Regional Committee of the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, “Italy has a long tradition of fine jewellery making – as, of course, has India, one of the many things that we have in common and for many years now the two countries have been trading successfully in this sector.”
