Spice girl

DJ Kary believes in charm and energy treatment

Making a mark DJ Kary: ‘Music is not only about zeal’

“It takes loads of nerves, confidence and hard work to be a DJ,” says Karuna Fernandes, popularly known as DJ Kary. She excels not just in DJing, but is also a dab hand at audio engineering and music production. She believes DJing has always been a challenging job for girls in India. “I refused to give up easily on my talent, though the initial phase was quite a struggle.” She has been a celebrity DJ for the past nine years and is a qualified audio engineer from the School of Audio Engineering, Chennai.

She chose this career option as she had the freedom to experiment with different forms of music. She believes one can be a success in this industry only if one can sense the musical pulse. DJ Kary feels music is the spice of life. “Music helps people unwind at the end of a hectic day. It is very important for a DJ to charm them so that they can enjoy to the fullest,” feels the charming DJ. She also believes “music is not only about zeal or a gift. One should slide in and out of inner consciousness while listening to music to understand or feel it on a higher level. Only then one will be able to create something out of it.” Travelling is her passion and she loves performing in various cities and countries across the globe. Injecting the crowd with energy with her music is what this DJ believes in.
