Loving the shades!
Summer is certainly time to hide from the sun. It’s a perfect excuse to don those shades. Luxottica Group recently launched its new range of KL eyewear. The launch was marked by Bollywood heartthrob Kunal Kapoor and vee-jay Mia flaunting the new styles. Models Gauhar Khan, Priyanka Shah and Praveen Sirohi also walked the ramp sporting KL eyewear. Like all launches, this one had its share of regular party movers and shakers.
Brand ambassador Kunal Kapoor, Brand Ambassador for KL eyewear said, “KL is a contemporary and dynamic brand which reflects the style statement of the youth of today.”
KL Spring Summer 2008 collection showcases innovative colour combinations in lively tones and chic frames with engravings.
Jewels that change
Jewellery with a split personality? Well, now you have that as well. Tanishq recently unveiled Dvaita (meaning dualism), a versatile jewellery range that is meant for different occasions and moods.
Unveiled by Sangeeta Diwan, Head Tanishq Design Studio, the collection is about contemporary desires and aspirations.
“At your touch the necklace unclasps to a bracelet, a loop from an evening wear neckwear becomes a pendant for a kitty party and you can even alter your finger ring to suit the attire and occasion,” explains Diwan, a graduate of NIFT, Delhi.
He pursued a Masters in design from Creative Academy, Milan, too.
Tanishq also has a wide range of collections varying from an Everyday collection to Kundan Polki jewellery of the Jodha Akbar fame.
On top Down Under
Indian students these days make up a sizeable portion in many international universities. Acknowledging this trend, the Central Queensland University, Australia, recently held a seminar in the Capital. They attracted students with their educational programmes and told them of the available scholarships for various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Professor Angela Delves Deputy Vice Chancellor of Central Queensland University, emphasised, “Be what you want to be. We’ve got the information, it’s up to you to grab the knowledge.”
The University is attractive also for its multiculturalism and long association with Indian students.
The University is also targeting Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and is hoping to provide scholarships to them as well.
