Laughter, love and life

Evam’s latest production “Doubles Triples & Quadruples —Nobody Stays Single!” has the right dose of drama and sentiment

HAPPY MOMENTS The cast of “Doubles, Triples and Quadruples…”

Song and dance. Drama and sentiment. An enterprising tramp and a pouting stuntman. If you tried putting all that into a bottle, what would you get? According to Evam, “A full-bodied wine, slightly acetic with a mild, childishly sweet aftertaste , which goes down easy and warm. A hint of wild berries and lemon, and yet a whiff of spice.” Perfect for an evening out.

The group’s latest production “Doubles Triples & Quadruples —Nobody Stays Single!” is an evening presented by six actors, rather than just a play performance. Evam calls it ‘A roller coaster ride of laughs, loves, lives and life not strictly in that order.’

The production attempts to capture life’s moments in all shapes and sizes. So whether you want to laugh, guffaw, giggle or roar, you will probably find your moment over the evening. Even if you don’t find a date.

Anyway, there’s always the signature Evam activity off stage: activity zones, contests and lots of freebies. After all, as they chirpily claim, “Evam is a happy factory.”

The play, which recently premiered in Ranga Shankara in Bangalore, features music by Anil Srinivasan. The actors are Karthik Kumar, Sunil Vishnu K, Karthik Srinivasan, Navin Balachandran, Kalyani Kumar and Shakila Arun.

The play will be staged on July 19 at 7.30 p.m. and July 20 at 3.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. at the Chinmaya Heritage Centre on Harrington Road. Tickets are available at Landmark and www.bookmyshow.com
