MY KIND OF PLACE
No travel bug
Camera, pancake, crowd and a crammed schedule… when you want to chill out amidst all this, there is no place like home.
Luckily, I have a good amount of space for myself, the whole of the first floor, in my house.
It’s a great feeling to just cuddle up on the bed and watch lots of films on my home theatre or listen to my favourite tracks.
When I am not shooting, I also hate to hear the word ‘ready’. I tell my mum not to ask me ‘Why I am not ready?’ when I am at home. One cannot be forever looking at the clock.
Nostalgic
About Munnar. This charming place in Kerala is where I faced the camera for the first time.
It was for the film Poonjolai. Even today I become emotional when I go there.
The same goes for Theni, where I shot for the classic Pithamagan. I later went there to shoot for Kalai and was thrilled to meet director Bala (who directed Pithamagan too) who was there shooting his film Naan Kadavul.
I used to make fun of him — “You are shooting in the same streets, in the same ambience…you don’t seem to tire of Theni.”
In Japan, night is as good as day. Well-lit roads, people all around…in pubs, discos and shopping malls.
I completely fell for Tokyo’s pace.
Food for thought
My diet depends much on my mood. I am not a connoisseur who loves to experiment with tastes and cuisine.
But I think twice before I eat, for I fear looking flabby.
