Arabian knights

Rebelz theatre group’s latest production is a spoof on classic tales

Rebelz theatre group presents its fourth production — ‘Once Upon a Time in Arabia’. The play is a spoof on the classical Arabian tales of Aladdin, Alibaba and the like.

It has everything — from pretty princesses to dancing skeletons to genies and loads of insanity.

There is trouble in the ancient city of Petra — known for its beautiful oasis, horses, camels, and princess Ayesha.

If the princess does not get married in a week, the kingdom will fall into the hands of the evil Minister.

Hero Ali Shadan, his dim-witted brother Sink-Bath and brave mother Mariam take the help of a glamorous genie, a valiant camel and some kitchen cutlery, to win over the forces of the minister.

Divya, Sritha, Harish, Ashwin, Partha, Mahima and Bharath act in the play, to be staged on July 26 (7 p.m.) and July 27 (3.30 p.m. and 7 p.m.) at Sivagami Pethachin Auditorium, Luz church Road, Mylapore.

Tickets are available at Crossword, Fruit Shop on Greams Road, Subway, Gangotree, Honda-TVS Sundaram showroom and online, at www.ticketnew.com.
