Safeguard

Economists define inflation as “too much money chasing very few goods” which means the value of money is on the decrease and the value of commodities and services are on the increase. Spiralling prices have an adverse effect on the common man, who with his meagre income finds it difficult to make both ends meet. Basic need of a common man is food and shelter and both are coming with a heavy price now. Poverty is on the rise and the threat of starvation deaths looms large due to inflation now. It is the foremost duty and responsibility of both the Central and the State governments to safeguard the interests of the common man by way of monetary and fiscal measures and lower the rising prices.

S. Kanagavel Manoharan,

Madurai.
