The menu of Barbeque Nation makes you wish you had an unquenchable appetite
|
On a skewer The choice of starters is so exhaustive that you may be full up by the time you reach the main course
The smell of freshly-baked grills enhances your appetite a few notches as you enter the Barbeque Nation restaurant situated in J.P. Nagar.
A look at the menu and you would wish for an insatiable appetite to sample the massive lunch/dinner spread. Buffet meals are a norm at the restaurant and are packaged with a host of vegetarian and non-vegetarian starters.
The starter’s palate is huge and would be enough to feed five people. The starters are served and are grilled right in front of you. You could even add special flavourings to the grills, even as it is being grilled in the special charcoal table.
Moving on to food, vegetarians could try out the Lebanese veg grill and paneer chil chill, both preparations are well cooked and taste heavenly with added sauces like mangoes mixed with cashew sauce and vinegar. For non-vegetarians, the choice is more diverse with an array of starters such as the Lebanese speciality Cajun chicken served alongside traditional Indian specialty grills like the tandoori Jhinga fish and of course, the main item of any Indian steak lover.
You could gulp down the starters with beers or order any of the fruit-based mocktails.
The starters list is so exhaustive that you may be full by the time you reach the main course. A gulati naan is also served with the starters.
The main course menu is also fairly exhaustive and is a blend of a wide range of oriental comprising dishes such as vegetarian hakka noodles and fish in Schezwan sauce, Mughlai (with a lucknowi flavour) such as the popular Paneer kofta sheesh mahal and mutton biryani and even a variant of the south-Indian curd rice.
As far as the food goes, the mutton biryani manages to win hands down in the taste quotient with tender succulent mutton pieces and rice that manages to capture the flavours of the spices quite brilliantly.
Vegetarians could savour the taste of Awadhi cuisine with the hundi masala and the dals they dish out. Though the chicken and mushroom dishes are quite well done, the mutton dishes such as the pudina gosht with the marinated juicy pieces do take the cake on the taste quotient.
The service though limited to the starters and the drinks is quite impressive and quick. A small flag is provided at each table. The patrons are supposed to lower the flag to call for an end to the starters and drink services.
The restaurant is situated above Levis showroom, near Shekar Netralaya, J.P. Nagar III phase.
