A wish for the kids
|
The Make A Wish Foundation recently threw a party and gave away goodies to children
|
They cheered, clapped and squealed in amazement as a magician performed one trick after another. It was a children’s party with a difference. Most of the guests were kids who were fighting life threatening diseases.
A break
They were taking a break from the routine of hospitals, doctors, painful jabs and drugs, and were enjoying every moment of it. The Make A Wish Foundation (MAW) had organised a magic show and a music and dance session for the children, their parents and guardians. There was much applause as MAW granted the wishes that ranged from clothes, cricket sets, cycles and other toys. T-shirts with the Make A Wish logo were distributed to the children present.
The generous patrons for the evening were Syndicate Export Pvt Ltd, Sri Krishna Sweets, Rajam Cycles and The Oxford Bookstore. The honorary director of MAW, Coimbatore Air Commodore M. Vania, spoke of scores of well wishers and friends of the organisation whose unstinting support helped MAW move onwards in its endeavours.
Footloose dance school and Rainbow orchestra provided free entertainment that the children hugely enjoyed.
The MAW Foundation is in its fourth year in Coimbatore, and is extending its operations to Kerala, too. The Foundation welcomes volunteers and donations. Contact: 9344455859. Visit www.makeawishindia.org
