Actress Sangeeta’s brother Parimal makes his debut in ‘Lechipodhama’
|
First cut Parimal in a still from the film
Parimal is just 18 and he is wrapping up his debut film in Telugu, Lechipodhama. Movies didn’t happen to him by chance. Ever since he was a child he wanted to become an actor and started to learn dancing. At the age of 10, he joined Swingers, and he’s been with the Shiamak Davar group for four years performing in shows. But when he got the opportunity to work as his assistant, he dropped out as he wanted to pursue a course in digital film-making.
The exuberant and sprightly debutant giggles as he tells MetroPlus, “Usually if someone asks me the story of my film, I’m more than willing to narrate it but this time I can’t. I have been given strict instructions not to reveal the story.”
Parimal is actress Sangeeta’s brother and during the making of Na Oopiri, the actor met director Kanmani and that’s how things got moving. He says his parents are supportive and gave him the option to choose between academics and films after his high school and he chose the latter. The young man reveals that there are no professional discussions with his actress sister and she doesn’t counsel him either. Nevertheless, she is concerned about his laidback habits and wants him to hit the gym and reach the sets on time.
As he talks, it’s obvious that he is in love with the role given to him and hopes that the Telugu audience accept him as an actor. Sandhya of Premiste fame is Parimal’s heroine. “She is a fabulous co-star, she had called and wished me before the film took off,” says Parimal.
Is he choreographing for the film? “No, I am not. Having said that, I am more comfortable acting in songs than scenes. But I felt shy doing romantic scenes.” Parimal is temporarily sporting a tattoo on his shoulder and it reads, SRK.
A die-hard fan of Shahrukh Khan, Parimal talks nineteen-to-the-dozen about him.
Parimal means fragrance and he was named by Rajinikant. He says, “Dad and Rajinikant know each other for 30 years now. When I was born he came to the hospital and named me. He was then working in Raghavendra and was donning the role of Parimal Acharya.”
