Film screening

Moving Images Film Club is screening Chetan Anand’s Neecha Nagar (which introduced Kamini Kaushal, and had Pandit Ravi Shankar as a music composer) as a tribute to the veteran film-maker. The film-maker’s son Ketan Anand will be present to introduce the film. Sizzler Fest

Treat yourself to unlimited sizzlers accompanied by a mug of beer at the Taj Deccan during the Sizzler & More Festival. ‘Sanghamitra, A Movement for Social Transformation’ is hosting an exhibition of paintings by C.D. Jain, who is focussing on children, their life, plight and problems in the state. The exhibition is on at Chitramayee State Gallery of Fine Arts, Madhapur, till August 3.

An exhibition of oil paintings, Shades, by Sitara Vangala will be on at Indian Art—B Gallery, State Gallery of Art, Road No. 1, Kavuri Hills, Madhapur, till July 30.

Summer carnival

The Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad celebrates the Sommerfest, marking the end of the Hyderabadi summer and the onset the European one. The festival takes on the form of a carnival replete with masks and costumes, songs, German food and fun. The festival date is August 2 and the time is 6. 30 p.m. One has to register for the Karneval with the Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad on 6552 6443 on or before July 28.
