Life comes full circle

Power cuts have become a part and parcel of our life. We have to adjust our schedule in accordance with the cuts. One can finish the mixing-grinding routine before the ordained hour. The doors and windows can be kept open, the curtains pulled to let in the natural air and light. Buy some good books, say thanks to God for reviving your old habit of reading. Soon, you will find how apt it is to call the television the idiot box. Dust off the old kerosene lanterns, light candles. Tell stories to your children while remembering your grandmother. Before going to bed, kneel down and say a prayer ending with the words, “Grant me the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change.”
