Cyber quiz for school students
Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women will organise Cyber Quest, a district-level cyber quiz for higher secondary students, on August 14, at Sri Ramakrishna Kalyana Mandapam, Avarampalayam Road.
Questions will include history and fundamentals of computers, IT, internet, e-commerce, computers in entertainment and sports, and IT personalities. Each team must contain two members, and two teams from a school can participate. Participants must be present at the venue by 10 a.m. in full uniform and must carry their ID cards.
The prelims is at 10.30 a.m. and the finals at 1.30 p.m. The first prize is Rs. 3,000; second Rs. 2,000 and third Rs. 1,000. The last date for registration is August 6. For details and registration, call 94433-84655; 99655-61482; 99449-53355.

Embroidery workshop
Giri Arts will conduct a two-day embroidery workshop on August 2 and 3 (Saturday and Sunday). Kantha work, mirror work and a host of other embroidery methods will be taught.

The Humour Society of Coimbatore presents “Humour during the British Raj” by V. Sriram (eminent author and musicologist). The venue is the GKD Auditorium. Be there at 6 pm on Saturday, August 2.

Heritage Festival
International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will organise a children’s cultural festival from August 10 to August 23 at S.N.R. Auditorium.
The event will include competitions such as colouring, painting, singing, dancing, quiz, drama and fancy dress.
The colouring event is open for students of LKG to class III. In the painting competition, students from class IV to class VII can choose any theme from the Ramayana and the Mahabharatha.
For students of class VIII and above, the topic will be given on the spot.
