Meet shortage

Business in the State is hammered by the unannounced power cuts. The Government has decided to cut the supply for two hours daily. But in most areas, the power goes kaput for more than two hours without notice. The Government can save huge loads of power if the use of loud speakers during functions, use of extra tubes and hoardings during visits of leaders and any other such unwanted use of electricity for party meetings can be avoided.

The power cuts may also be organised such that it is featured during the lunch break so that production does not stop in companies. It should be after office hours for households. The Government must unearth measures to replenish the shortage or increase production.

P. RAMESH BALAJE,

Tiruchi-5.
