Dodging walls

TVA new show on POGO

Get splashed In ‘Hole in the Wall’

What fun can it be when you see a wall approaching you? Lots, if you are on the game show ‘Hole in the Wall’. Imagine trying to evade a moving wall that approaches you at great speed, failing to do so and… splash, landing in a pool of water. For those who have already seen the show’s foreign versions, it’s now time to catch the desi one. After enthralling audiences in Japan, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Italy, France and Russia, the show is finally in India.

Fun times ahead

Indian audiences, who have so far been spectators to game shows like ‘Family Fortunes’, ‘KBC’, ‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hai’ and the like, where they had to appear composed, prim and proper will, for the first time, see and participate in something this wild.

In ‘Hole in the Wall’ contestants will be dressed in spandex. Instead of tackling questions, they will face walls of abnormal shapes that charge towards them. To survive in the competition, contestants must twist, turn, bend, jump, and find other innovative ways to pass through the walls. Seven seconds is all they have, else they get knocked into the water.

This physically challenging show will have two teams of three people participating, with interesting combinations such as aunties versus footballers and bearded men versus young boys among others. Doubling the fun quotient with his quips will be Indian television’s acclaimed funny man, Cyrus Sahukar, who hosts the show. “I am having a blast hosting POGO’s ‘Hole in the Wall’ as it breaks the monotony of regular life and is full of energy, fun and laughter. It brings out the child in you and is like a giant pool party. The magic of the show is having people from all walks of life play a game that they have never played before and enjoy themselves to the hilt!” says Cyrus.

Giving a little more insight into the game show, Krishna Desai says that the winning team will get a trophy, cash vouchers and will find its photo on the ‘Hole of Fame’.

Keeping safety in mind the pool is padded and shallow, and even the costumes of the participants are padded.

“It took us over a month to ready the sets and we have taken a lot of precautionary measures,” adds Desai.

So, from today, (6.30 p.m. - Monday to Friday) get ready for some (w)holesome entertainment!
