The NFDC organises a film bazaar at Goa
|
The National Film Development Corporation presents Film Bazaar 2008 from November 26 to November 29, 2008 at Marriott Resort, Goa. This bazaar will introduce a co-production market section for documentaries, and will also have a screenwriters’
lab, pitching sessions, a film conclave, master classes with filmmakers and a business lounge.
At the ‘Work In Progress’ workshop, five pre-selected films in the rough-cut stage will be mentored by advisors from India and abroad on their final cut.
The co-production market will invite submissions for feature films and documentaries that are India-centric, but which seek a global platform. Selected projects will have the opportunity of seeking collaboration for distribution and production with potential international and Indian partners.
Also, 15 feature films and 10 documentary projects will be presented at the market for a global audience.
The Screenwriters’ Lab will run concurrent to the Film Bazaar. This lab will be conducted by renowned guest mentors and will be held in association with Binger Filmlab, an Amsterdam-based International feature film development centre. A select pool of Indian screenwriters will be individually mentored in the development of feature film screenplays.
Renowned guest mentors will select seven screenplays and advise in their development. Applications are open for the ‘Film Bazaar Co-production Market: Feature Films and Documentaries’ and ‘Film Bazaar Screenwriters’ Lab’ till August 25.
The ‘Film Conclave and Business lounge’ will focus on global industry developments in association with Screen International and will comprise keynote address, seminars, and panel discussions. Eminent speakers from India and abroad, including Danis Tanovic (No Man’s Land), Gary Hamilton from Arclight Films and Shekhar Kapur will elaborate on various topics.
Delegates can also take part in pitching sessions, master classes and screenings in this conclave.
