Endure

Everybody knows that power generation depends on monsoon rain water stored in dams. Owing to growing domestic, industrial, infrastructure and agricultural needs for power, the Govenrment’s desire for an uninterrupted power supply could not be met with at times of monsoon delay or failure. Power cuts are not a wilful act. Other sources for power will entail higher costs. Indeed all people suffer in their walks of life economically, socially and psychologically. We have become slaves of electricity for about two centuries. We have to endure patiently for such inconveniences and hardships. We have to minimise our power needs in future.

C.P.V. Ratnam,

Madurai.
