Proteins, carbs and fats

The value of eating the right kind of foods cannot be overemphasised. It’s your ticket to good health and fitness. The following are some of the food stuffs that anyone with a physically active lifestyle should consume in sufficient quantities every day.

The best sources of protein are egg whites, lean meats, grilled chicken breast, tuna, whey protein powders, skimmed milk, soya and green peas.

Vegetarian protein lacks amino acid and that makes it less efficient. So combining several such foods is a better idea.

Get your carbohydrates from whole wheat, fibrous and green vegetables and oats. Rice and fruits can be consumed in moderate amounts, based on the individual’s body. Avoid sugar and refined products like sooji.

Fats can come from fish and olive oil and nuts.
