Grilled to perfection

The Grill House offers a range of oriental and Indian delicacies

It is a tiny eatery, tucked away in a corner of Indiranagar near Ambedkar College. The ambience is pretty with wooden chairs and tables. It may not boast of live bands but manages to make up with superb food and a family environment.

True to the name, the Grill House churns out a variety of grilled foods, comprising both oriental and Indian grills. Begin your meal with the Soupa Catalina, a Grill House speciality containing minced chicken and fresh crumbs garnished with cilantro. The ingredients in the soups are also lightly grilled providing the vegetable and chicken pieces a fresh taste.

As the head chef points out, “Grilling is also a very healthy cooking option. It manages to preserve the juices of the items and does not absorb the nutrients much.” The restaurant offers a wide range of both non vegetarian and vegetarian grills. The starters are also innovative from cottage cheese fingers and crispy chicken wings to sheekh kebabs. You could also dig into healthy mushroom caps, containing mushrooms filled with vegetables and sauces. The starters are grilled well and the smokyflavour they add to the food is delicious. A hot favourite among patrons is the palak panner sandwich, where grilled palak replaces the bread and is served with a slice of cottage cheese.

Moving on to the main course, the Grilled gamboroni — prawns in pepperoni chilli sauce served on spaghetti with veggies and cucumber salad is awesome. The prawns are grilled to perfection and with the spaghetti make for a wholesome meal in itself. Vegetarians can dig into the aalu muttar steaks and vegetarian shashliks.

The service is quick, though the grilling of some non-vegetarian preparations could take time. The dishes are inexpensive and do not burn a hole in your pocket.
