Electricity is an essential commodity in life. Its demand is not uniform and it cannot be stored.
So far the government has not taken any effective step to implement the Hinduja’s proposed thermal power plant near Parwada, though the foundation stone was laid during the regime of the then Prime Minister, P.V. Narasimha Rao.
We all know that the cheapest generation of power is Hydroelectricity but it depends on the rains. The government has no plans to develop alternative renewable energy sources like solar or wind.
Today, we are discussing about nuclear power generation with the help of a foreign power, though we already had a bad experience with MNC like ENRON. Nuclear power is costly and it even might have an effect on our sovereignty.
It is time that the citizens should act by replacing old home appliances and local bodies think of cutting the consumption by implementing effective measures.
