Home in the world!

Enjoy Dilli Ka Khana at Paatra

Desi fare A dish on offer at Paatra

There is one thing which all agree upon unanimously. That our moms are the world’s best cooks as far as we are concerned. But what if you get the chance to eat home food in the luxury of a hotel? Not quite a bad idea, is it? This is exactly wha t Paatra, the Indian cuisine restaurant at Jaypee Vasant Continental, is offering in its Dilli Ka Khana festival. The 10-day festival, which started early this month, ends this Sunday.

The entire range of the recipes for the food festival has been prepared by Master Chef Gunjan Goyla. “It is the sheer idea of eating homemade food at a star hotel. It also brings in people in large numbers,” says Chef Goyla. She elaborates on why the idea of homemade food at a hotel restaurant would work.

“There are many dishes like maa choley ki daal, aam ki meethi chutney, and rai gajar mooli ka achar, which all of us are aware of, but we never expect to find them in a star hotel. So even that factor is adding to the uniqueness of the whole event.” She claims, “The response keeps getting better every passing year.”

The festival menu ranges from masale waali chaach to matar ki sabzi to aloo matar ke paranthe and other finger licking dishes.

For those who want a splendid feast, try the buffet for Rs.950. Your dinner will be made more special by live music.
