Now showing, “Icy-N-Spicy”

A still from the film

Are you a fan of animated movies? Get ready for a new genre altogether. Icy-N-Spicy, India’s first 3D mainstream animation film, hit the box office this Friday. The movie is directed by Anil Goyal and the story is by Harvin der Mankkar. Mankkar has also composed the eight songs in the audio and four in the movie. Eminent singers like Udit Narayan, Vasundhara Das, Hariharan, Vani Babbar and Shaan have given their voices. Music is by Dilip Sen and Satish Babbar. The protagonists are the fun loving Icy and Spicy. They meet an alien, Gantoo, who resembles an elephant and is fleeing the giant Jindaan. “Eventually, Gantoo empowers Icy and Spicy who stand against Jindaan to save both Gantoo and the earth,” says Goyal. Though kids are the target audience, says the director, it is “absolute entertainment” for the whole family. Akash Ahuja, known for his voiceovers in films like Oliver Twist and Spy Kids, is the voice for Icy.

“We have a lot of expectations from the film because of its different subject in the animated category and are also planning to bring out a comic book on it,” says Mankkar. The movie is showing in 11 multiplexes across India and in four multiplexes in the NCR: MMX Ghaziabad, Wave Rajouri Garden, Wave Noida and Spice Noida.
