Celebrating a maestro

August24, 9 a.m. onwards, Vylopilli Samskriti Bhavan

The K. P. Udayabhanu Foundation started by friends and well-wishers of the maestro, to promote research and training in popular music will be inaugurated by K. Karunakaran. This will be followed by a day long music festival ‘Snehasangeethasangamam,’ featuring singers such as Vani Jayaram, M.G. Sreekumar, G.Venugopal and Sujatha. Contact: 2310212.

Great Bombay Circus

Begins today at Puthirikkandam Maidan

The circus comes to town. There will be three shows daily (1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.). Tickets are available for Rs.25, Rs. 50, Rs. 75 and Rs.100. Industries Minister Elamaram Karim will inaugurate the show today at 7 p.m.
