Modern love story
C>reeper”, scripted and directed by Ram Ganesh Kamatham, was a totally different theatre experience. It was fragmented, yet evocative. It moved from topic to topic, never allowing the audience to cling on to the crutch of a continuous narrative.
There were two people on stage, dressed in their ordinary day-to-day clothes, a magical box, real in its presence, symbolic in its implication and lighting which was imaginatively and sparingly used to follow the movements of the actors. Reality and unreality, dream and fantasy, were all presented at a fleeting pace.
Till the end the two storytellers never agreed on their mode of telling stories. They fought, confronted each other, laughed, screamed, cuddled. They were like a pair of panthers, agile in their movements, restless in their stance, wanting to leave each other, but bonded through an invisible, indescribable feeling for each other. But, throughout, I could hear the voices of two lonely souls in a lonely city, trying to reach out to each other. If I say, this is a modern love story, will anyone agree with me?
