CITIZEN REVIEWS - CREEPER
Timely play

COMEDY AND CONFLICT From 'Creeper'
Creeper” was for a mature audience. The whispers from the floor, “I don’t understand, yar, do you?”, the claps and the laughs gradually faded into silence as the theme of the play unfolded. It was as if we were flung on a psychiatric couch, evaluating our times, tossed from an innocent life of Chandamama into ‘Internet stalking, porn, exorcism, doom and gloom’. The Bengalaru pair, oscillating from bipolar depression to a comedy of sorts, kept the viewers enthralled with a brilliant script and dramatic genius for 75 minutes.
Their heart rending cry, “Is this our city, I don’t recognise it any more”, took us back to the Bombay riots, Gujarat massacre and the bombings...Slowly, the tentacles of despair gripped us all as the duo wept for Bengalaru. A timely play on the eve of yet another ‘Independent year’. Is there truly freedom for all?
Or are we to be still hounded, pounded and burnt? A creepy thought.
Keep it up, MetroPlus Theatre Fest! We need more of you.
