Thrilling treat

The Hollywood blockbuster “Transformers” will be screened on October 24 at 9 p.m on HBO. Directed and produced by Michael Bay, the film ia based on the iconic toy line from the 1980s. The film has brilliant special effects and memorable characters.

American actor and comedian Shia LaBeouf stars as Sam Witwicky, the teenager who unknowingly buys Bumblebee as his first car, not knowing it was the autobot, bumblebee. His life suddenly changes as he becomes a major part of the battle for earth. American actress and model Megan Fox plays Sam’s crush, Mikaela Banes, whom he woos with Bumblebee’s help. Mikaela is mechanically skilled because her father was a grease monkey and car thief.

Trivia: Most of the cars that were destroyed in the film had their engines and transmissions removed to make them easier to flip around. To save money, the filmmakers entered into a production deal with General Motors, saving about $3 million. The company provided the alternate modes of the Autobots and also provided around 200 cars that were blown up in the ‘battle of mission city. The Transformers were created with a mix of computer-generated imagery and props.
